Sulfree can be used to scavenge Hydrogen Sulfide compounds in petrochemicals and is formulated for these purposes. Sulfree OS-6100—one of our highest concentration products, is a water/oil soluble product that can be used for washing Sulfur compounds from crudes or fuels.

With a high flashpoint, and fast capture of Hydrogen Sulfides, the Sulfree 6100 product safely captures Sulfur compounds without the hazard of formaldehyde found in triazines or glyoxal. In independent laboratory side by side testing, A 60% Sulfree was faster than triazines at removing Hydrogen Sulfide suggesting that lower concentrations can be effective at removing Hydrogen Sulfide molecules.

When treating high sulfur fuels to remove Sulfides, there can be TWO MODES of ACTION:
1. Sulfree OS 6100 can be added directly to the fuel as it is being pumped and then later washed out in the hydrotreater, allowing for longer contact time with the fuel
2. Sulfree OS-6100 can be added to a water scrubbing solution and washed through the fuel as it is being pumped. OS- 6100, when diluted with water, is more soluble in the water phase than the oil phase

Refer to the OS-6000 treatment price table for approximate treatment costs.
